Black Belt Workforce Initiative
In partnership with the Dallas County Children’s Policy Council and many others we’ve helped launch the Black Belt Workforce Initiative, a new program created to improve Work Readiness Skills, Job Training, and Job Placement within our community.
The Black Belt Workforce Initiative was established in the summer of 2019 as a result of Dallas County District Court, State Adult Education, State Workforce Officials, and the Central Alabama Works division collaborating to identify solutions for individuals in the Black belt who are in need of work readiness skills.
It was designed to create, in partnership with community services providers, a continuum of services needed to identify and deelop individual strengths, promote vocational advancement through Ready-to-Work programming, adult education services, and other educational / training opportunities which will increase workforce participation.
Its goal is to provide a mechanism to help individuals from the community and those involved in the court system establish nationally recognized work force skills to gain employment and succeed.
