Community Development Programs

22 Church Street Renovation

We just completed the 1st Phase of the 22 Church Street Renovation Project and are currently fundraising to finish the 2nd phase to begin moving programs into the building.

The building will be the future home of Arsenal Place, and a one stop for all of our partner programs under one roof.

Pre-K Program

A pre-K school focused on lower income families and in partnership with Blue Jean Selma.

Hope Farms

Hope Farms is our vision for an East Selma neighborhood. We work to create affordable housing options as well as beautify the area by implementing urban farming and functional developments to help those that live there improve their lives.

Trash Clean Up

In partnership with the Juvenile Probation Office and the Children’s Policy Council, each week a group of volunteers and those needing community service hours pick up trash in and around Selma.

Internship Program

Arsenal Place also helps facilitate an Internship Program for young adults to commit a summer or a year to seeking the transformation of the Selma community. During this time, they learn what it means to help individuals and families step out of poverty. The program places interns in organizations throughout the city and offers programing to help them grow vocationally, spiritually and socially.

Interns can serve in areas such as social work, counseling, non-profit administration, business administration, entrepreneurship, public relations, marketing, communications and  others. The programs welcomes undergraduate, graduate and recently graduated students.

The program partners with the Americorps Vista Program and Blue Jean Selma to be able to offer free housing, a monthly stipend for living expenses, college debt reduction grant and health insurance (for year long partners). This is an opportunity to see a community transformed and to be transformed.
